LDS Sample Buffer (Non-Reducing) is a 4X concentrate buffer used to prep protein samples before running gels, usually in SDS-PAGE and Western blot. The sample buffer denatures proteins and gives a uniform negative charge. The non-reducing formulation keeps disulfide bonds intact. In addition, glycerol in the formulation increases sample density, and coomassie blue + phenol red provide protein visualization and gel tracking, respectively.
