EGTA [Ethylene glycol-bis(β-aminoethyl ether)-N,N,N’,N’-tetraacetic acid] is a selective chelating agent widely used in molecular biology and protein biochemistry applications that require controlled removal of divalent metal ions. This 1 M solution at pH 7.4 is particularly effective for binding calcium ions, making it well suited for studies involving calcium-dependent biological processes.
