G418 Sulfate (Geneticin) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. It is one of the most widely used selection agents for generating stable mammalian cell lines carrying the neo resistance gene following transfection.
