Product Description

Ethidium bromide is one of the most widely used fluorescent dyes in molecular biology research. It is used as a non-radioactive marker for identifying and visualizing nucleic acid bands, such as DNA or DNA from PCRs or restriction digests, and single-stranded RNA in agarose gels following electrophoresis. Ethidium bromide is a DNA intercalator, inserting itself between the base pairs in the double-stranded DNA and RNA to form relatively stable complexes with increased fluorescence intensity.
